Hello! My name is Teresa Giolito and I am the proud principal of Smith STEM School. I live in West Hartford, Connecticut with my husband Rich, and my dog Penny Lane. I have two adult daughters. Alexa, who is 27, lives in Florida and Maddie, who is 24, lives in New York City.

I truly love the Smith STEM community. I began teaching here at Smith in 2001. Now in my 8th year as your principal, my hope is to continue to make a difference in the lives of all of our students. One of our core values is relationships. I believe that the foundation of this community is built upon meaningful relationships, engaging learning and effective communication. Developing strong relationships between teachers, parents and students leads to higher levels of student achievement. It is through these relationships that the true magic of learning can occur.

The responsibility of educating your children is a great one, but together with your support we can meet this challenge with great success! I look forward to partnering up with each and every one of you in creating a learning environment that challenges all of our students and helps them become responsible and caring community members.
